The BD-30 Diesel Service Station Kit is an example of a modern prototype. The first set includes the;
BD-30-A Service Pit (single piece), BD-30-B Crane Support Structure (22 pieces), BD-30-C Engine Access Platforms (6 pieces), BD-30-D Double Gantry Crane (single piece), and BD-30-E the RR-91 Open Chassis.
Additional kits will be added including; BD-31 Engine Shop BD-32 Fueling Station BD-33 Washing Station BD-34 Sanding Towers BD-35 Paint Shop
BD-30-E includes the inventory of a modern diesel engine; the Cab and its controls and instruments, a lavatory, the fuel bumkers, a 4500HP diesel, and the variety of power transmissions and dynamic braking systems and exhausts. This non-operating pewter casting with 3-axle wheel sets is also available separately either undecorated or decorated as RR-91.
BD-31-A, -B, -C -A Service Track and Pit matches Micro Trains Lines flex track. The inserted flex leaves only the rails exposed providing a closed surface. An accurate reproduction added by the modeler would include steps down, and an illuminated subsurface work area. -B Crane Supports. Each support includes structural cross members and two vertical structural posts. They are available separately. -C Engine Access Platforms. These walkways provide access at frame level. They are available separately.
BD-30-D The Double Gantry Crane is capable of lifting the body shell above the chassis and moving the locomotive parts within the Service Station. It is modeled after the 50 Lifting Ton MOW service self-supporting cranes manufactured by a variety of American companies.
BD-31 The Engine Shop is avaialable either as a kit or a finished model paitned to specification. It encloses the BD-30 and provides an opportunity to expand to an additional bays. Manufactured using RP acrylic it is easy to assemble and paint. It has a 6"x4" footprint, and is avaialable with either a flat room with AC details, or with a truss-supported vented skylight windows.
